“A man who was part of their (Pacquiao) group entered last and positioned himself directly in front of me, with his back towards my front. Everything went well until the elevator doors opened on the second floor,” ani Ms. Bev sa kanyang reklamo.
“He raised his right arm at a ninety degrees angle, effectively fencing me in. He was so close bodily, and slightly bent at the waist, that his buttocks was touching my stomach and the heels of his shoes were stepping on the tips of my open-toed shoes. I tried to move back to put some space between his buttocks and my stomach but the handrail was already digging against my back,” sabi pa n’ya.
“I then tried to move to my right (as my left and back were already against the elevator walls) to get out from being pinned by him and take my shoes out from under the heels of his, but my movement only prompted him to move his right hand, wag it in such a way to discourage me from getting out under him, and to warn me from making any move.”
“He held this position until the entire group of the Senator alighted the elevator. And since there were several members in the Senator’s group, this position was held for some time,” ani Ms. Sotto na nagsabing saka lamang ibinaba ng kumag na bodyguard ang iniharang na kamay nang makalabas na ng elevator si Pacquiao at mga kasamahan.
“What this bodyguard did was beyond rude and very excessive given the setting. He used his body to hold me in position, leaving me in a very tight space with parts of his body touching mine to subdue any movement from me. I feel very violated and insulted by the actions of the said bodyguard. I could not help feeling that my being emboldened him to take such liberties with my person.”
“In my 11 years of working in the Senate, and six years in local government, this is the first time I encountered such abuse and manhandling from anyone. And to think that this mistreatment happened in the VIP elevator of the Philippine Senate is totally unacceptable.”
“I am so insulted, offended and disgusted by the actions of the said bodyguard that I am still very emotional up to now. I am getting a CCTV copy from the Office of the Seargent-At-Arms to positively identify him while considering actions to take regarding the matter. I am also mulling consulting my uncle, Senator Sotto, on this.”
“I am writing you today, in your capacity as Senator Pacquiao’s Chief of Staff, hoping that you can properly address and perhaps discipline this abusive staff member. I did not see his face clearly because his back was toward me during the whole incident, and when I got off the elevator, I was shaken and seething in rage at this ‘kabastusan.’ He is quite tall and on the slim side with a full head of hair.”
