ALDEN Richards and Maine Mendoza's fans are up in arms with the rumor that their show "Destined to be Yours", will run for only one season and will have no extension. Some of them even wrote a letter of protest to GMA-7 management requesting that the show gets extended so they can still watch their idols on primetime for a longer period of time. Well, here's hoping that the Kapuso network will give in and grant their request.
Alden and Maine are just back home from the USA and they want to thank all their fans abroad for making their concerts in the East and West Coast big, big hits. They're now back taping new episodes for "Destined to Be Yours" and folks say it's very obvious that their trip abroad helped in making them feel close to each other.
"Parang mas clingy sila sa isa't isa ngayon," an observer on the set remarks. "Magka-holding hands pa sila habang nagre-rehearse at nagbabasa ng script sa set."
In the story, Alden as Benjie and Maine as Sinag have seen each other again and it's quite apparent that they still harbor sweet feelings for each other. The problem is Alden now has Thea Tolentino as Trish in his life, while Maine is also much closer to Juancho Trivino as Badong, who she has accepted as her boyfriend.
Things get complicated because Maine and Thea have become good friends and Thea confides in her that she's jealous about the identity of the new woman in Alden's life, not knowing it's no one else but Maine herself. Meantime, Ina Feleo as Catalino continues her evil plots to discredit Alden in their company.
KRIS TO STAR IN A WARNER BROS FILM?
AFTER she got bashed as "walang utang na loob" for calling the producer, Mrs. Rodora Morales, of her "Trip ni Kris" travel show (which didn't rate well) a user, along with Mrs. Morales' son Renan, Kris now tries to continue to get hold of the public's attention by hinting that she will soon star in a Hollywood movie.
On April 13, she posted in her social media account an insinuation that the she might be part of a new Warner Bros. production. The said Hollywood movie is said to be "Crazy Rich Asians", based on the best seller written by international author Kevin Kwan, who also wrote "China Rich Girlfriend".
Kris might be playing the role of the lead female character, Astrid Leong, a Singaporean known as The Goddess. She says she signed a non-disclosure agreement so she's not at liberty to reveal any details about the movie. She flew to Hollywood last Sunday to sign her contract after passing "five levels of scrutiny".
She added in her account: “I pray it gives you encouragement & hope. I am proof that in life doors will shut & there will be heartbreaking setbacks but FAITH in God's plan will open new, unexpected doors. We just need to trust in His Love, Provision, Restoration & Perfect Timing. Grace is unmerited; it's God's Gift we humbly receive with a heart overflowing with Gratitude. To my siblings & sons- I share this blessing w/ you. THANK YOU for being my strength.”
Here's hoping for her that there will be no hitches or setbacks in her dream to become a Hollywood star.
TRIBUTE TO WILLY PROPOSED
THANK you for the music, Mr. Wilfredo Buencamino Cruz, the composer of such well-loved hit tunes like Pangarap na Bituin , Bituing Walang Ningning, Sana'y Wala Nang Wakas, Never Say Goodbye, Doon Lang, Kumusta Ka, Kahit Na, Sana'y Maghintay ang Walang Hanggan, May Minamahal, and Araw-araw, Gabi-gabi. He wrote many commercial jingles and also won awards as a musical scorer for films like "Bukas Luluhod ang Mga Tala", "Pahiram ng Isang Umaga" and "Hanggang Kailan Kita Mamahalin".
Popularly known as Willy, he passed on last Monday at the age of 70. He was confined at the St. Luke's Medical Center for a stroke. Born on January 30, 1947, he comes from a family of musicians and among his musical relatives are Francisco Buencamino, Nonong Buencamino and Lorrie Ilustre.
Our wish is for a playwright to write a full length play stringing along all of Willy's hit songs as they are all catchy and lovable. Let's all pray for the repose of his soul.
