MARIAN Rivera is back on primetime in “Super Ma’am”, a show that pays tribute to teachers and also tells a highly entertaining story about a teacher who has super powers that she uses to fight a group of evildoers called Tamawo.
“Dream ko talaga noon na maging teacher kaya super excited ako sa project na ito dahil natupad din ang pangarap kahit dito sa show lang,” she says. “In the story, I play Minerva Henerala at love and passion ko talaga ang maging teacher. At kahit na maraming struggles akong mararanasan along the way, I will never give up ang pagiging high school teacher ko. Pinagtatawanan ako rito ng mga tao dahil naniniwala ako sa existence ng mythical creatures called Tamawo. Until something happens na magbibigay sa akin ng super powers para mas makatulong pa ako sa aking kapwa. Dedicated ito sa lahat ng teachers at sa lahat ng fans kong noon pa nagre-request na magka-show uli ako sa primetime at maging superhero uli ang role ko. I really trained hard for this role dahil marami akong fight scenes at ayokong magpa-double. And I’m really proud of this dahil puwede kong ipapanood sa baby naming si Zia as it teaches good moral values.”
Also in the cast of “Super Ma’am” are Carmina Villaroel as Marian’s mentor in how to fight evil, Dina Bonnevie as her mom, Kim Domingo as her sister who she thought died but grew up with the Tamawo, Meg Imperial as the contravida assistant principal who makes life hell for her, Al Tantay as her dad, Jackielou Blanco as the main villain and leader of the Tamawo, Jerald Napoles as the janitor best friend of Marian, Joyce Ching as a creature imprisoned in a jar called Dalikmata, Kristoffer Martin as a secret tamawo who’s the cousin of Jerald, Kevin Santos as a reporter who wants to know more about tamawos, Shyr Valdez as the principal in Marian’s school, Ashley Ortega as an arrogant student of Marian, Jillian Ward as the geeky student often bullied by her classmates, Enrico Cuenca as a nerdy math teacher, Isabelle de Leon as a sexy and beautiful Tamawo, Julius Miguel Erasga as the youngest brother of Marian, Andrew Gan as an evil tamawo, introducing Matthias Rhoads as foreign archeologist Trevor Jones, with the grand comeback of Ms. Helen Gamboa as the grandma of Marian. Also appearing in a very special role as a bad Tamawo is Comedy Concert Queen Ai Ai de las Alas with whom Marian has a fight scene on top of a train, directed by LA Madridejos, who helmed the hit “Meant to Be”.
Marian’s new action-fantasy series will be shown starting Monday, September 18, in time for Happy Teacher’s Month. It will be aired right after “24 Oras” to be pitted against “Probinsyano” and her husband’s hard hitting action-drama, “Alyas Robin Hood”, will be shown right after it. This makes their husband and wife team dominate GMA-7’s Telebabad, making them their real Primetime King and Queen.
DINGDONG PRAISES SOLENN
DINGDONG Dantes is so proud of his wife Marian’s new show and they’re both confident that their loyal fans and supporters will regularly watch “Alyas Robin Hood” and “Super Ma’am” every week night. “So right ‘24 Oras’, dire-diretso na ang panonood nila sa shows namin ng wife ko,” he says.
He’s happy that the viewers of “Alyas Robin Hood” were able to quickly appreciate the introduction of new characters in the story, Solenn Heussaff and Ruru Madrid. “Very positive ang reception sa kanila and we promise na magtutulung-tulong kaming lahat para mas mapaganda namin ang bawat episode ng aming show,” adds Dingdong.
Solenn’s appearance in the show was very much talked about as she exuded so much sexiness. “Grabe ang galing niya kaya maraming viewers ang agad na-impressed,” says Dong. “Very natural ang presence niya as the new character na rich heiress, si Iris Lizeralde. Very raw at very refreshing rin na makakita ng ganu’ng klase ng performance so isa siya sa mga aabangan sa show.”
Because of such good words from Dingdong, Solenn should get ready and brace herself up in expecting to get acerbic comments from bashers who would surely be very protective of Dong’s marriage with Marian Rivera. Even Andrea Torres who’s also in “Alyas Robin Hood” was not spared by haters who accused her of trying to snatch Dong away from Marian.
ONE TO BECOME A FATHER, ONE GETTING MARRIED
GEOFF Eigenmann has admitted that his girlfriend, singer Maya, is pregnant and will deliver their first baby anytime this month. Maya was runnerup to Sarah Geronimo in Star for a Night in 2002 and became a member of the girl group called Blush. She also used to be part of the duo Migz and Maya, but her partner Migz Haleco has since gone solo.
Both Geoff and Maya are being managed by Perry Lansigan’s talent management company, PPL Entertainment, where they met each other. Geoff is the second son of Gina Alajar and Michael de Mesa. Their eldest, Ryan, has two kids and another one is on the way soon. Their youngest, AJ, is also married and lives in Las Vegas, Nevada. We hope Geoff’s baby will be a lucky charm and help revive his now dormant acting career.
Meantime, other talents of PPL, Max Collins and Pancho Magno have announced that their wedding will be on December 11. Both the ceremony and reception will be held at Marriott Hotel. Pancho officially proposed to Max in Boracay on April 28. We congratulated his mom, GMA exec Redgie Magno, at the presscon of "Super Ma'am", and told her we won't be surprised if she'd be next in line. Among the bridesmaids of Max are her good friends Andrea Torres and the newlywed Rochelle Pangilinan. They will have their honeymoon during the Christmas holidays following their wedding.
JLC NOT FORCED TO DO 'INDISCREET' VIDEOS
MOST netizens believe that Ellen Adarna is a bad influence to John Lloyd Cruz. JLC did a lot of things on video and in pictures that he has never done before with any of his many past girlfriends. In several videos while they are on vacation in Cebu’s Bantayan Island, he appears shirtless, dancing and shaking his head like there’s no tomorrow and even doing the dirty finger sign.
JLC has already apologized for what he did but says no regrets about it as it’s just good clean fun, but his fans are worried about the negative repercurssions that his seemingly irresponsible actions might have on his showbiz career since he has a wholesome image as an actor, unlike Ellen who is the “walang pakialam” type and has dated and even admitted that she has lived in with various other guys before, both showbiz and non showbiz.
JLC fans should not get worried that their relationship might be a permanent thing. As another kibitzer notes, knowing the track records of both JLC and Ellen, this is just a passing fancy and they’ll quickly make “sawa” of each other after their “tikiman” portion.
Their detractors quickly judge them and say they both look drunk when the photos were taken. Well, they’re both of age (even overaged), so no one can dictate to them what and what not to do. JLC is already 34 years old while Ellen is 29.
And it’s not like JLC was forced to do these indiscreet things before the camera as he’s even willingly posing for them. He knows there might be negative consequences. And if he doesn’t care. Neither should we.
