TWO motorcycle-rid-ing suspects allegedly involved in robbery incidents in Quezon City were killed in a shootout with policemen in Bgy. Payatas midnight Thursday.

A report gathered from the Quezon City Police District-Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit showed that operatives of the District Special Operations Unit were conducting surveillance operation along IBP Road corner Everlasting Street in Bgy. Payatas when they figured in a shootout with motorcycle-riding robber Emery Bryan Flores, 37, of Pilot Area, Bgy. Commonwealth, and his unidentified companion, described as about 5’5” tall, of slim built, fair complexion, with a devil face tattooed on his left shoulder.

The report said that before 12 midnight of May 19, the suspects grabbed the backpack containing two cellphones, cash and other personal belongings of 22 year-old travel agent Jessabel Ranido while on her way home. Ranida tried to resist but was forced to yield her bag when a gun was pointed at her. The suspects fled on a white Suzuki Smash motorcycle with “For Registration” plate.

Unknown to the suspects, their nefarious act was witnessed by the operatives who chased and cornered them on Kalinisan Ext. corner Masbate St., Bgy. Bata-san. The suspects fired at the pursuing operatives, triggering a shootout, killing Flores and his cohort.

Investigators recovered a Remington cal.  .45 pistol with three live ammunition, a Colt cal. .45 pistol with four live ammunition, a sachet of shabu and the bag of the victim containing her personal belongings.

Ranida positively identified the suspects as the same persons who robbed her at gunpoint.

QCPD director Chief Supt.
