A welder and his live-in partner were critically wounded when they were stabbed repeatedly by their neighbor over an alleged old grudge inside their house Monday night in Navotas City.
Adrian Banate, 39, and his live-in partner Jennifer Santiago, 38, both of 68 J.B Santos St., Bgy. Tangos, were rushed by their relatives to Navotas City Hospital but later transferred to Tondo Medical Center where they were placed under observation.
Bgy. Tangos staff employee Myra dela Cruz, in an interview, said that based on the account of Arlene Santiago, 36, her sister Jennifer was about to close the main door of their house when the suspect, Arcanghel Santos, alias “Alen” forcibly barged in at 8:20 p.m.
Jennifer allegedly resisted but the suspect pulled her hair and stabbed him in the stomach and right arm.
The suspect went upstairs to look for Banate who was sleeping and stabbed him in the back. Though wounded, Banate tried to fight back but he was again stabbed by Santos in the right hand. The suspect escaped.
