A COUPLE were killed when the motorcycle they were riding went wayward reportedly after being
sideswiped and run over by a truck in Sampaloc, Manila, the other day.

Victims Romulo Hernandez, 51, and Julie Rosero Guina, 47, both of 641 Area A, La Forteza
Subd., Camarin, Caloocan City, died on the spot. The suspect, identified as Miguel Sibayan Jr., 38, of
Upper Buhangin, Sitio Tagbak, Bgy. San Jose, Antipolo City.

Investigation by SPO1 Jun-Jun Jasminez of the Vehicle Traffic Investigation Section (VTIS) of
the Manila Police District (MPD) said the accident happened at around 2 p.m. at the corner of
Dimasalang and Maceda Streets in Sampaloc.

The victims have reportedly just come from Divisoria and were on their way home aboard their
motorcycle (UC-9870) when they stopped at a red light.

When the light turned green, Hernandez was said to have lost balance after being sideswiped,
causing them and their motorcycle to fall to the ground. The truck’s rear tires ran over them, killing
them instantly.

The suspect surrendered and is now facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting in double
homicide and damage to property.
