AN air marshall of Saudia Airlines flight SV-860 arrested an overseas Filipino worker (OFW)  after she was allegedly caught stealing money from her seatmate inside the plane.

The OFW was identified as Lorena Cancino, a native of Urdaneta, Pangasinan. She was arrested while airborne and about four hours before the said plane landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1. She  is now in the custody of the Airport Police Department.

Complainants Rohena Mangomma Talib, 29, and Sitti Shaima Mangomma Talib, 31, told probers they are both flight crew of the said aircraft and were on vacation.

Rohena claimed to have noticed that her grey pouch containing US$900 was already missing. At that time, the suspect had hurriedly gone to the lavatory.

Rohena said she checked on the said lavatory and there discovered her missing pouch inside the waste can, while a crew recovered some dollar bills in the OFW’s  seat pocket and pillow, while some more were found wrapped in tissue inside the trash bin.

The airport police are preparing the filing of necessary charges against the suspect before the Pasay City Prosecutor’s Office.
