A student is now in critical condition at a hospital in Manila after one in a group of drunk men stabbed him in the neck after challenging him to a fight for no reason the other night in Quiapo, Manila.
SPO1 Roderick Kabigting of the Manila Police District-Station 3 identified the victim as Patrick Albo, 18, a student at the Technological Institute of the Philippines (TIP) and residing in Pasig City.
At around 11 p.m., the victim was said to be walking on Matapang Street in Quiapo, Manila, with his friends when they chanced upon the suspects led by one Rocky Dagami, 29, a salesman, of 734 Matapang St., Quiapo, challenging everyone who passes by to a fight.
The victim and his friends thus took another route but were chased by one Joshua Carmelo, 18, and a certain ‘Dagami’.
Unfortunately for the victim, he got cornered and got stabbed in the neck. He was rushed to the nearest hospital by his friend Jayvee Villanueva, 27.
The suspect, who stabbed the victim, tried but failed to escape after he was cornered by patrolling cops, PO1 Manday dela Rosa, Alvin Kenneth Torre, Joseph Cruz and Joseph Garab.
A case of attempted murder was filed against the suspect before the Manila Prosecutor’s Office.
