A 43-year-old woman was shot dead before the terrified eyes of her son and daughter by riding-in-tandem (RIT) gunmen yesterday in Bgy. Mahar-lika Village, Taguig City.
Killed was Bailyn Camad, a Muslim, of Cagayan De Oro St., Bgy. Maharlika Village, Taguig City. She died instantaneously from multiple gunshot wounds.
The RIT suspects immediately escaped after the shooting incident.
Chief Insp. Christian Laygo, chief of Station Investigation and Detective Management Branch of Taguig City police, said the incident took place at 7:40 p.m.
Investigation showed that the victim was riding a motorcycle driven by her son and traversing Bandar St. on their way home when the suspects blocked their path and shot Camad successively before they fled.
Police refused to comment about the killing, saying that they are still conducting a follow-up investigation.
Meanwhile, Parañaque policemen yesterday arrested five drug suspects, including three women, in separate anti-drug operations.
Arrested were Edison Arias, 35, Junior Reynaldo, 19, Airen Masukat, 21, Jocelyn Akmad, and Geraldine Soriano, 37.
Police said the suspects were charged for violation of Republic Act 9165.
