THE camp of Vice President Jejomar Binay yesterday said they will prove the Ombudsman wrong and the case against him will be dismissed for being baseless.

“In a fair and impartial venue, we are confident that the so-called cases against the VP will be dismissed for being frivolous and baseless. We shall exert all legal remedies to prove the Ombudsman wrong,” Binay’s lawyer, Atty. Rico Quicho, said.

Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales said the Ombudsman will file the case against Binay once his term expires on June 30 and lose his immunity from law suit.

Morales said they have found probable cause to charge Binay with malversation of public funds, falsification and graft.

Binay and his co-accused were allegedly found involved in the anomalous bidding and construction of the P2.28 billion Makati City Hall Building II.
