THE Chinese Embassy in Manila has announced that Philippine passport holders with valid China visas are welcome to China.
The clarification was issued by the Chinese Embassy following an alleged memorandum stating that starting April 11, Philippine passport holders are on hold even with existing valid China visas.
“In recent days, there has been such a confusing message circulating on some social media that ‘Per memo issued by the Chinese Embassy last Friday March 17, all Philippine passport holders going to China starting April 11 are on hold even with existing valid China visas,’”the Chinese Embassy said.
The Consular Section of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China said the message “is totally fake and null.”
Embassy officials appealed to the public to refrain from continuing to circulate the fake memorandum.
The Embassy stressed the fake memorandum “might generate more confusion among and inconvenience for the Philippine passport holders.”
Officials urged the public to always refer to the official website of the Chinese Embassy for official information on the consular services.
