PHILIPPINE National Police officer-in-charge Deputy Director General Leonardo A. Espina on Wednesday designated Senior Supt. Elmo  Francis O. Sarona, a lawyer from Philippine Military Academy Class 1986, as the new head of the PNP Firearms and Explosives Office.
A former deputy chief of the PNP National Operations Center, Sarona replaced Senior Supt. Dennis A. Siervo, a member of PMA Class 1985 who was designated as OIC of the PNP-FEO last March. The lawyer-police official was tasked by Gen. Espina to make the necessary reforms in the PNP-FEO and transform it into a “client-friendly” office.
Siervo briefly commanded the PNP-FEO after its former director Chief Supt. Moro Virgilio M. Lazo of PMA Class 1984 was designated by President Aquino as the new PNP Special Action Force head. There was no immediate word on Siervo’s next assignment.
