A known drug den maintainer in Cagayan de Oro City and his four cohorts were arrested and jailed by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency during a buy-bust operation last Sunday which also resulted in the seizure of an estimated P150,000 worth of shabu, PDEA Director General Isidro S. Lapeña said yesterday.
Suspected shabu dive operator Florencio Villas, alias ‘May/David,’ 48, ‘target-listed’ drug personality residing in Piaping Puti, Macabalan, Cagayan de Oro City, was arrested during the anti-narcotics operation at 8 p.m. Saturday.
His four cohorts identified as Crispin Requerme, 57, Kristoffer Villaflor, 26, Joseph Abapo, 35, and Felmar Ortega, 40, were also arrested inside the latter’s residence.
The raid led to the confiscation of five plastic packets containing some 25 grams of the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine’ with a local market value of P150,000, said Lapeña.
Villas faces charges for violation of Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) and Section 6 (maintenance of a den), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The four other suspects were charged with violation of Section 7 (visitors of a den) of RA 9165.
