SEVEN suspected drug dealers were killed in separate gunbattles with agents of the Bulacan Police Provincial Office while 28 were arrested in a string of anti-narcotics operations over the past three days, local police director Senior Supt. Romeo M. Caramat Jr. announced yesterday.
In a report to Police Regional Office 3 director Chief Supt. Aaron N. Aquino, the official said that their anti-drug drive also led to the confiscation of a cache of shabu, firearms and a suspected stolen motorcycle.
One of the suspects, identified only as alias ‘Asbok,’ was killed in a gunfight in Pulilan while three others, two of them unidentified and the third known only as ‘Bonad,’ died after trading shots with undercover officers in Guiguinto.
Pulilan police chief Supt. Arwin Tadeo said ‘Asbok’ was killed in a firefight in Bgy. Longos at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday. The suspect’s still unidentified cohort managed to escape on board a motorcycle.
Recovered during the sting were 10 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing shabu, a caliber .38 revolver with four live ammunition and two spent cartridges in its cylinder, a cellphone and the marked P500 bill received by the slain suspect from the poseur.
In Guiguinto, three suspected drug dealers were killed in a firefight with local policemen under Supt. Orlando Castillo in Bgy. Daungan at around 5:30 a.m. yesterday.
The three had just conspired to sell shabu to an officer when they sensed the sting and tried to escape on board their motorcycles. A running gunbattle ensued which led to the killing of the suspects, who yielded two cal. .38 revolvers, an improvised shotgun and several sachets of shabu.
In Norzagaray town, policemen headed by Supt. Rizalino Andaya clashed with two drug suspects in Poblacion, Bgy. Minuyan proper, at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, leading to the death of the suspects, identified as Ryan Gallino and Marlon Bertulfo, who yielded two cal. .38 revolvers, seven sachets of shabu and drug paraphernalia.
In Hagonoy, local policemen under Chief Insp. Restituto Granil shot dead drug suspect Mandy John Vier San Jose during a firefight in Bgy. San Agustin past 12 a.m. Wednesday. A cohort of the suspect is still being hunted. Recovered from the slain suspect were a cal. .38 revolver, three sachets of shabu and the marked money he received from the poseur.
Caramat said 28 other known drug personalities, some of them had surrendered to local policemen in previous Philippine National Police Oplan: Tokhang were arrested in separate anti-narcotics operations in the province this year.
The suspects were arrested in stings in Bgy. Taboc in Angat; Bgy. Sta. Rita in San Miguel; Bgy. Lumang Bayan in Plaridel; Bgy. Sto. Niño in Baliwag; Bgy. Longos in Pulilan; Malolos City; Baliuag; Bgy. Borol 1st in Balagtas; Bgy. Paco in Obando; Bgy. Santa Monica in Hagonoy; Bgy. San Rafael in San Jose del Monte City; Bgy. Ibayo in Marilao; and Bgy. San Vicente in Santa Maria town.
