NASUGBU, Batangas -- A driver and a jobless man were hacked dead by an angry carpenter after they stoned his house in Sitio Pasong Kawayan, Bgy. Banilad, here, Tuesday afternoon.
Town pólice OIC Chief Insp. Rogelio B. Pineda identified the victims as Christian Vasquez Villaviray, alias Tsano, 27, married, driver, of Sitio Pasong Kawayan, Bgy. Banilad; and Enrico Casilihan Villaviray, 43, married, jobless, of Bgy. Cogunan, both in this town.
Pineda identified the suspect as Guillermo delos Reyes Gomez, 48, married, carpenter.
Around 4:10 p.m. of May 16, the incident was reported to the Nasugbu Municipal Police Station by Councilman Artemio Hernandez, of Bgy. Banilad.
Investigations by PO3 Arthuro Mundo Salas, PO1s Brian Derain and Gerardo Barrion Visto disclosed that the victims and other companions were having a drinking session in the river in Sitio Pasong Kawayan not far from their residences at 4 p.m.
After getting drunk, the two victims decided to go home. On their way home, they stopped in front a house where they were rained with stones.
The suspect, who was wielding a bolo, came out of his house and hacked the two victims, who were later rushed to Apacible Memorial District Hospital where Christian Villaviray, who sustained hack wound in the chest, was pronounced dead on arrival by attending physician Dr. Jerome Trinidad.
Enrico Villaviray, who suffered a deep wound in the stomach, was transferred by relatives to Bayview Hospital in Balayan town but reportedly died later while undergoing treatment, investigators said.
Authorities arrested the suspect and locked him up in jail for proper disposition.
The Batangas Provincial Crime Laboratory Office (PCLO) conducted an autopsy on the victims’ bodies.
Police found the bolo with bloodstains at the scene.
