Three more casualties were reported in Cavite and Laguna due to the onslaught of Tropical Depression Maring, which also devastated roads and houses near rivers.
Police identified the victims as Rosie Nasayao, 32, of Bgy. Bungad Veloso, Silang town, Cavite, Lawrence Maurillo, 14, of Bgy. San Cristobal, Calamba City, and Fanzine Jade Mina Mongering, 3, from Bgy. Paling.
Nasayao was on her way home when she was swept away by the strong current of the flashfloods at San Cristobal River at 6 p.m.
Her body was later found under the mud and rubbles in Bgy. San Agustin 2, Dasmariñas City, early yesterday morning.
Reports also said that the Noveleta River overflowed and many residents were affected. However, floods already subsided yesterday.
In Carmona town, five members of family survived the flashfloods when they were able to crawl to higher ground after their house was swept away in Bgy. Maduya at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday night.
They were Romeo Perez, 46, and wife Gina, 42, children Gelo Luis, 11, Dennis, 9, and Romina.
In Laguna, Maurillo, Grade 7 student, who was reported missing when ‘Maring’ hit the province, was found dead in a river in Bgy. San Cristobal, Calamba City yesterday morning.
Barangay Chairman Nap Baradas told police that Maurillos’ body was discovered at 6 a.m.
The victim was positively identified by his father Leopoldo. His body was brought to Green Lawn Funeral Homes for autopsy.
Meanwhile, Fanzine Jade Mina was found floating dead by her father Jordan in Laguna de Bay at 10:46 a.m. yesterday.
