PDEA agents nab Korean trader, Pinay companion

ANTI-narcotics personnel of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested a Korean national and his
female companion in a hotel in Cebu City, authority reported yesterday.

PDEA head Director General Aaron Aquino identified the suspects as Wei-Rak Son, 39,
businessman, of Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, and Crisel Claire Ferolino, 24, of Apas, Cebu City.
    
A belated report submitted to PDEA headquarters in Quezon City said the suspects were arrested
during inspection in a hotel room in Bgy. Kamputhaw, Cebu City on Nov. 8, 2017 following a call from
the hotel management after one of its staff members saw pills scattered in the suspects’ room.
    
PDEA personnel confiscated 36 pieces of Zolpidem, 15 pieces of Diazepam tablets and 68 pieces
of assorted tablets. When asked if he has prescription for the drugs which are regulated, Son was
unable to present any.
    
The operating team also confiscated a sachet of suspected shabu weighing 0.03 gram from
Ferolino.
    
PDEA Region 7 said the suspects are now in its custody, facing charges.
