PDEA arrests 31, seizes P1M shabu

AT LEAST 31 persons, including an engineer and a teenager, were arrested and jailed by members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in separate anti-narcotics  operations in the countryside this week which also resulted in the confiscation of nearly P1 million worth of shabu, PDEA chair Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac Jr. announced yesterday,
   
One of the suspects was Revilla Domingo Waclin alias Bela, 29, of Buguias, Benguet. She was arrested after she sold P75,000 worth of shabu to an undercover officer of the PDEA Cordillera Administrative Region inside Palma Ville Subdivision in Barangay Puguis, La Trinidad, Benguet. Rudy Bag-ay,54, of Navy Base, Baguio City was also arrested for selling P7,000 shabu to an undercover agent in Bgy. Sto. Rosario Road, Baguio City. In Puerto Princesa City, 48-year-old city hall employee and his cohort were arrested by members of the PDEA and the National Bureau of Investigation.
   
Cacdac identified the two as Danilo Arias, an employee of Puerto Princesa City Hall residing in Bgy. San Jose, Puerto Princesa City; and Fernando Mameng, 23, of Bgy. Tagabinet, also in  Puerto Princesa City. A third suspect identified as a certain Al Yumol managed to elude arrest during the operation and is still being hunted. Carcilia Sedanza, 34, was nabbed after she sold shabu to an undercover officer. 
   
In Dumaguete City, local PDEA officers raided a suspected drug den Friday and arrested eight suspects including the drug dive owner identified as Jimmy Kitane alias Tyawex, 64, of Sitio Canday-ong, Bgy. Calindangan, Dumaguete City. Also arrested were his two employees Aldwin Caño, 25; and Michael Caño, 28; and customers Geranwil Enfestan, 41; Winnie Vilas, 45; Michael Cañete, 35; Francisco Desmoparan, 43; and Jovanie Galiga, 27.
   
In Naga City, local PDEA officers arrested Freddie Badiola IV, 32, during a drug bust Wednesday. Recovered from the suspect were 70 grams of shabu worth P350,000.       In Mati City in Davao Oriental, police and PDEA officers stormed four suspected drug dens and arrested Lourdes Encabo, 43,  one of the suspected drug dive operators and her  visitors Ali Magtacpao, 22; Jamaly Medsi, 28; and Ronald Macatabog, 36, all residents in the area.
