PDEA, cops nab 3 drug den owners, 9 others in Lanao

THREE suspected drug den owners and nine others were arrested by joint operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and local police during a buy-bust operation in Lanao del Sur.

PDEA Director General Isidro S. Lapeña identified the drug den owners as Intisar Sarip, alias Cynthia Sarip; Anisa Balindong Cali and Fahad Kasan Bangon, all of Bgy. Cabasaran, Malabang, Lanao del Sur.

Based on report, combined elements of the PDEA Regional Office-Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA RO-ARMM) under the direct supervision of Director Bryan Babang, Regional Public Safety Battalion (RPSB) 2nd Maneuver Company Police Regional Office-ARMM, 6th Infantry Battalion and the Malabang Municipal Police Station conducted a buy-bust operation against the suspects in their house doubling which they used as drug den in Barangay Cabasaran that led to their arrest.

Also arrested during the operation were Nabel Como Ayunan, alias Samer, 22, driver; Japar Uga Sultan, 18; Kadar Sugo Manua, alias Dar, 31; Camar Mama, 28, all laborers; Siehawe Dipatuan Marohom, alias Bakyot, 36; Jamil Imam, 18; Asgar Kampong Casim, alias Asgi, 36, all farmers; and Mohammad Aiman Dipatuan Sarip, 18; and Ainola Aguam Balindong, 18, both jobless, who were caught having a pot session inside the den.
   
Seized were 21 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu weighing 35 grams with an estimated value of P87,500, various drug paraphernalia, six mobile phones, a cal. .38 revolver with holster, six live ammunition for cal. .38 revolver, a grenade, and two homemade M79 grenade launchers.
   
Cases for violation of Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs), Section 6 (maintenance of drug den), Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) and Section 12 (possession of drug paraphernalia), Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed in court against Sarip, Cali and Bangon, while the others will be charged with violation of Section 7 (visitors of a drug den) and Section 15 (use of dangerous drugs).
   
Additional charges for violation of RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Act) and RA 9516 (illegal possession of explosives) will be also be filed against the drug den owners.
