PRO4-A gets 100 heavy guns from Crame

CAMP Vicente Lim, Canlubang, Laguna -- A total of 100 M-16 and 1 M14 (sniper) rifles from the Philippine National Police Headquarters were received yesterday by PRO4-A director Chief Supt. Ma. O Rañada Aplasca during the ceremonial awarding rites spearheaded by  Highway Patrol Group director Chief Supt. Arnel Escobal yesterday morning.

The rifles will be distributed to the following units -- RPSB4A, 20 M-16s and 1 M14; Batangas PPSC, 20 M-16s; Cavite PPSC, 9 M-16s; Laguna PPSC, 14 M-16s; Quezon PPSC, 30 M-16s; and Rizal PPSC, 7 M-16s.
    
In addition, the Practical Shooters and Match Officers Confederation (PSMOC) donated 15 reloading machines that will also be given to city police stations of the region, namely: Batangas, Lipa, Tanauan, Cavite, Tagaytay, Trece Martires, Calamba, San Pablo, Santa Rosa, Lucena, Antipolo, Dasmariñas, Bacoor, Imus and Cabuyao City.
     
Also, the Public Safety Savings and Loan Assn. Inc. (PSSLAI) also donated 1 laptop and desktop, 1 projector and a roll-up wide screen.
 
Aplasca expressed  his gratitude to PNP chief Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa and the PSSLAI for the continuing support to PRO4-A.   “These firearms will surely boost our shooting capabilities in our anti-criminality and illegal drugs campaign and internal security operations,” he said.
 
Meanwhile, Chief Supt. Escobal, guest of honor and speaker, told stories on how he endured the challenges throughout his police career. “In facing life challenges, do not lose hope, quitting is not an option. Pursue your dreams and never quit,” he said as he pose challenge to the members of Calabarzon police.
    
Demonstration of PRO4-A’s Civil Disturbance Management Company also highlighted the event, impressing the audience as they showed their agility, skills and preparedness for any event that calls for their services.
    
Escobal also led the distribution of awards to the following individuals and units for top performing provincial offices on Oplan Double Barrel covering the period May 1-31 in relation to the PNP’s anti-illegal drugs campaign project, double barrel to Cavite, Batangas and Laguna PPOs.
