-- A 44-year-old driver charged with statutory rape and child abuse was arrested by authorities in Bgy. 1, Lipa City, provincial police Public Information Office (PIO) head Insp. Hazel P. Luma-ang said on Wednesday.
Batangas police director Senior Supt. Randy Quines Peralta identified the suspect as Ricardo Toledo Bacay, 44, married, of Bgy. San Jose, Lipa City.
Peralta said that last October 11 at 10:30 a.m., members of the Lipa City Police Station personnel, led by Senior Insp. Rommel Masupil Alcantara, under the supervision of the city police chief Supt. Meliton Salvadora Jr., conducted an operation against the suspect who escaped and hid after committing the crimes.
Armed with a warrant for statutory rape and child abuse issued by Noel M. Lindog, Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court Branch 13 of Lipa City, dated June 21, 2017, with no bail recommended, police arrested Bacay.
The cases were filed by a certain Cecil (not her real name) on March 1, 2017 in Bgy. Latag, Lipa City.
