Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar, Transportation Sec. Arthur Tugade, DBM Sec. Benjamin Diokno and Manny Pangilinan, Chair of Metro Pacific Corporation, led the groundbreaking of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) yesterday.
Also present during the ceremony were Cavite Gov. Jesus Crispin ‘Boyin’ Remulla, Laguna Gov. Hernandez, Laguna Rep. Arlene Arcillas, Sta. Rosa Mayor Dan Fernandez and board members of Cavite’s 7 districts.
CALAX project is a four-lane 44.20 kilometers closed-system toll expressway connecting Cavitex and SLEX. The project will start from the Cavitex in Kawit, and ends at the SLEX-Mamplasan Interchange in Biñan City.
The project will have interchanges in eight locations namely, Kawit, Open Canal, Governor’s Drive, Aguinaldo Highway, Silang East, Sta. Rosa-Tagaytay Rd., Laguna Blvd., and Technopark.
