Movie/television actress Kris Aquino is convinced Liberal Party (LP) vice presidential candidate Leni Robredo being a good mother will also be a good leader of the country.

“With Leni Robredo, nararamdaman ko na she’s really going to be there to serve the people,” said Aquino who endorsed Robredo’s candidacy and even accompanied her in campaigning.

“I felt this woman embodies what I aspire to be. Motherhood. Yong pagiging nanay, really matters because I know that a good mother will be a good leader,” she added.

For Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos-Recto, Robredo is the epitome of a good mother for her honest and sincere desire to help the people unconditionally.

“Importante ang may pulso ng nanay. Kapag may touch ng pulso ng nanay, ito pong mangangalaga sa ating asawa’t mga anak. Bilang isang ina, alam po namin ang pulso’t pangangailangan ng buong pamilya,” said Gov. Vi in a gathering in Batangas.

In her closing statement at the 2nd vice presidential debate last April 18, Robredo likened herself to a mother who is willing to sacrifice everything for her children and loved ones.

“Ang isa pong mabuting ina ay naasahan sa kahit anong panahon, hindi umaatras sa hamon, sumisikap bawat araw na maging mabuting example sa kanyang mga anak, binibigay ang lahat, walang tinitira sa sarili,” according to Robredo.

When her husband Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo died in a plane crash in 2012, Leni served as a father and mother to their three children.

Even if she worked as a lawyer of the poor, Robredo made sure that her children’s needs were always attended to. When she became a lawmaker, Robredo still managed to fulfill her duties to her children.

A well-known lawyer of the poor, Robredo gave free legal services to the poor sector including farmers, fishermen and abused women for a long time before she became Camarines Sur third district representative.

Robredo recently topped the Social Weather Stations and Pulse Asia polls.
