PDEA cites 8 drug law enforcement units

EIGHT anti-narcotics units of the Philippine National Police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency were cited yesterday by PDEA chair Undersecretary Arturo C. Cacdac Jr. for their exemplary contribution in the national campaign against illegal drug trafficking and abuse.
Cacdac gave special citations to the Quezon City Police District Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group, the Manila Police District DAID-SOTG, the PNP Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force, the PNP Regional Office 13-Regional Intelligence Division, the Imus City Police Station, the PDEA Special Enforcement Service, the PDEA Regional Office 3  and the PDEA Regional Office-Cordillera Administrative Region.
The QCPD DAID-SOTF was cited twice, first for the successful conduct of a buy-bust operation on November 21, 2014 which resulted in the arrest of one Chinese national and the seizure of 4.887 kilograms of shabu worth P20 million and the second, for the confiscation of 9.3 kilos of shabu valued at P50 million during an anti-narcotics operation in Xavierville Subdivision in Barangay Loyola, Q.C. last January 30 which also led in the arrest of three Chinese drug personalities. QCPD deputy director for operations Senior Supt. Danilo A. Bautista, on behalf of QCPD director Chief Supt. Joel D. Pagdilao, accepted the PDEA awards.
The MPD DAID-SOGT was recognized for the conduct of a buy-bust operation on Carlos Palanca Street in San Miguel, Manila last January 2 which led in the seizure of 3.6 kilograms of shabu worth P18 million.
The PNP-AIDSOTF headed by Senior Supt. Bartolome C. Tobias received a citation for the comprehensive intelligence gathering that led to the successful interdiction operation last January 5 at the People’s Air Cargo Warehouse where nearly 39 kilograms of shabu worth nearly P200 million were confiscated.
The PNP-AIDSOTF’s Special Operations Unit 2 was also commended for the successful conduct of an entrapment operation at the parking lot of the Festival Mall in Alabang, Muntinlupa City last December 10 which led in the confiscation of a kilo of shabu worth P5 million.
The  PRO13 RID was cited for its role in the confiscation of over P10 million worth of shabu, assorted drug paraphernalia and an unlicensed caliber .45 pistol during a raid on a suspected drug dive in Butuan City last January 22 while the Imus City Police Station was recognized for the successful conduct of an entrapment operation in Imus, Cavite last January 31 which resulted in the confiscation of P15 million worth of shabu.
