THE Quezon City Police District (QCPD) has arrested one of four detainees who escaped from the Galas Police Station (PS 11) detention facility last January 7, 2021.
QCPD director, Police Brigadier General Danilo P. Macerin identified the arrested escapee as Ronald Buenafe, 34, a resident of Bgy. Tatalon.
Buenafe was reportedly arrested by joint personnel of the District Tactical Motorized Unit (DTMU) under PMaj. Leonie Ann Dela Cruz and Galas Police Station (PS 11) under PLTCol. Elizabeth Jasmin, at about 4:45 p.m. of January 9, 2021, in Purok 9, Area B, Bgy. Sta. Cruz, Sapang Palay, San Jose Del Monte City, Bulacan.
Three other escapees identified as Glenn Louie Limin, Marvin Incio, and Joel Sanchez are still at large.
The report showed that a relative of Buenafe reported his whereabouts to police.
A team of operatives immediately conducted a follow up operation that led to the arrest of Buenafe.
The arrested escapee was turned over to the Criminal Investigation Section (CIS) under PMaj. Elmer Monsalve.
Macerin, commended the personnel for their immediate response to the report resulting to the successful arrest of the suspect, adding, “Nagpapasalamat din tayo sa kamag-anak ng suspek na kusang nagbigay ng impormasyon sa mga pulis dahilan para mahuli ito. Hinihikayat ko din po ang ating mga kababayan na makipagtulungan at agad pong i-report sa pinakamalapit na police station ang sino mang nakakakilala sa iba pang suspek upang panagutan ang kanilang kasalanan at hindi na makaabala pang muli,” he added.
