1,052 new COVID cases recorded in Cavite 20 days after holidays

TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite — Some 1,052 new coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) cases were recorded in the province after the holiday break, Cavite Gov. Juanito Victor ‘Jonvic’ Remulla Jr. posted on his social media account last January 4, 2021.

Before the Christmas break, Cavite had a total 17, 767 COVID cases based on the DoH CHD Region 4A record with 16,317 recoveries and 494 deaths.

The DoH CHD R4 released an update on January 16, 2021, showing Cavite has 18, 819 cases or a total of 1,052 additional cases after the holidays.

As of January 15, 2021, General Trias City had 2,305 total cases, with 48 active, 2,216 recoveries, 41 deaths; Tagaytay had 220 total cases, with four active, 210 recoveries, six deaths; Bacoor City had 3256 total cases, 56 active, 3,077 recoveries and 123 deaths; Dasmarinas City had 3,221 total cases, 53 active, 3,079 recoveries and 93 deaths, Cavite City had 390 total cases, 21 new cases, 355 recoveries and 14 deaths; Tanza had 1,304 total cases, 38 new cases, 1,232 recoveries and 34 deaths; Noveleta had 272 total cases, five new cases, 264 recoveries and five deaths; Kawit had 486 total cases, 17 new, 447 recoveries and 22 deaths; Silang had 892 total cases, 16 new, 756 recoveries, 21 deaths; while Magallanes town had no additional cases since December 26 with 63 total cases and two deaths.
