19 nabbed in raid on La Union cybersex den

CAMP GEN. FLORENDO, La Union — The regional police office 1 yesterday reported the arrest of 19 employees of a cybersex den operating at the 3rd Floor of Tam Building located on Quezon Avenue, Bgy. III San Fernando City, La Union.

Armed with a search warrant for violation of Section 4 (c) (1) Cybersex of Republic Act 10175 and Republic Act 8484 against Andrea Amor Perez, et al, operatives seized 22 computer systems, server, and other pieces of evidence.

Police Brigadier General Rodolfo S. Azurin, Jr., PRO1 regional director, lauded the operatives of the Regional Anti Cybercrime Unit 1 led by Lt. Col. Domingo Soriano, PLT. Col. Domingo D. Soriano, officer in charge of the Digital Forensic Examiner, Regional Intelligence Division PRO1 led by Col. Frankie Candelario, of the La Union police and San Fernando City Police Station who collaborated for the successful implementation of the police operation.

The shift of technological advancement effects the increase in cybercrimes especially sexual exploitation. We all know that cybercrimes are borderless and remain rampant through the internet. Thus, Police Regional Office 1 also conducts extensive police operation to address cybercrimes in the region,” Azurin said.

The accomplishment was attributed to the stern implementation of ‘ Coplan Taguro,’ a PRO1 Case Operation Plan that aims to monitor online businesses and neutralize fraud, sexual exploitation, and abuse done through the internet.
