2 extremist militants yield in Mindanao

TWO members of a local terrorist group in c surrendered to authorities on Monday and turned over a powerful sniper rifle to the police, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, General Debold M. Sinas said yesterday

The twos identified only as alias ‘Dindin’ and one alias ‘Monta’ were described as former members of the Karialan Faction of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters headed by Commander Gantang .

The two turned themselves over to officials of the Police Regional Office- Bangsamoro Autonomous following negotiations with local officials.

The two BIFF fighters also surrendered one caliber .50 Barrett sniper rifle with one live ammunition to officials of the Regional Intelligence Unit-15 under the PNP Intelligence Group headed by Colonel Warren F. de Leon in Camp Brigadier Gen. Salipada K. Pendatun in Parang, Maguindanao.
