2 held for selling illegal firecrackers in Batangas

CAMP Gen. Miguel Malvar, Batangas — Two men were nabbed separately for illegally distributing and selling fireworks in the towns of Balete and San Jose, Batangas on Thursday afternoon.

A report to Batangas police director Col. Rex Arvin Malimban by Balete Municipal Police Station chief Captain Rhyan L. Olave said Francisco Garcia was caught selling and distributing illegal firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices in Bgy. Looc at 4 p.m.

The suspect was on board a white Toyota HI-Ace van (VDY 416) when nabbed.

Confiscated from Garcia were some 158 pieces of kwitis, five boxes of five stars, 1,100 rounds of Hudas belt, two bomb shells with nine and seven shots, a box of Pyro Academy with 49 shots, 210 pieces of Victory lights, 230 Roman candles and two boxes of whistling moon travelers with worth approximately P40,000.

In San Jose, Malimban said police handcuffed the Conrado Rosales Jr. at around 3 p.m. in Bgy. Palanca for selling firecrackers in front of his house which is a violation of Municipal Ordinance No. 0479-2018.

Recovered from Rosales Jr. were three silver fountain and bundles of kwitis worth approximately 17, 405.
