2 held, P.9M shabu seized in Navotas

DESPITE the threat of severe tropical storm Ulysses, the rampant selling of illegal drugs continued prompting the police to conduct a buy-bust operation resulting to the arrest of two drug personalities Wednesday in Navotas City.

In his report to Northern Police District (NPD) Director P/Brig. Gen. Ronaldo Ylagan, Navotas police chief P/Col. Rolando Balasabas said the arrest of Albert Ryan Pascual, 45, of 50 T. Gonzales St., Bgy. San Jose and Joseph Tinio, 42, of 022 Pitong Gatang St.,Bgy. Sipac-Almacen was the result of a week-long surveillance operation conducted by Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) led by P/Lt. Genere Sanchez.

Pascual, who was listed as a drug pusher in the police drug watch list and Tinio, a listed drug user was nabbed at around 5:15 p.m. along Road 10, Bgy. North Bay Boulevard North (NBBN) after they handed a medium-sized sachet of shabu to a police poseur-buyer in exchange for P1,000 marked money.

When frisked, elements of SDEU recovered from the arrested suspects a total of 26 sachets of shabu weighing 135 grams with standard drug price worth P918,000, a black sling bag, the P1,000 marked money and P2,000 cash.

Ylagan expressed his appreciation for the seizure of 135 grams of shabu and commended the personnel of Navotas Police SDEU for a job well done.

Balasabas in his text message said the confiscated shabu will be submitted to the NPD Crime Laboratory for chemical analysis while the arrested suspects were temporarily detained at the Navotas police custodial facility pending their presentation to the Navotas City Prosecutor’s Office for inquest proceedings on charges of violation of selling and possession of illegal drugs.
