20 clubs to play in 2019 PBA D-League

THE ninth season of the PBA D-League is said to be biggest in history with a roster of more than 20 teams.

Centro Escolar University, the lone holdover from the inaugurals in 2011, will headline the clubs which have already declared their intentions to join the new season slated to open on February.

Reigning Foundation Cup champion Go for Gold is set to make its return, along with Che’Lu Bar and Grill, runners-up in the last two conferences, Marinerong Pilipino, Batangas-EAC and AMA Online Education.

Also making their comeback are Letran, Cignal, University of Perpetual Help System Dalta, Wang’s Ballclub and St. Clare.

School-based teams Diliman College, Trinity University of Asia and Enderun-Phoenix have also indicated their desire to participate in the developmental league, as well as club teams Cha Dao Milktea, McDavid, Prism Construction.

Zark’s Burgers, which ruled the Aspirants’ Cup behind Lyceum of the Philippines University standouts, is reportedly not joining in the season-opening tournament.

The PBA D-League Draft is scheduled on Jan. 24, with the Aspirants’ Cup set to kick off on Feb. 14.
