THE first lucky bettor of the year comes from Nueva Ecija.
The bettor became an instant millionaire after bagging the over P34-million jackpot during Sunday’s night 6/49 Super Lotto draw, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) said on Monday.
PCSO General Manager Royina Marzan-Garma said the winning combination of the the Super Lotto was 33,24,49,11,29,01 with a total jackpot prize of P34,691,773.00
The lucky bettor purchased the ticket from an outlet located in Gapan, Nueva Ecija.
The P34, 691,773,00 , the agency said, will be subjected to 20 percent tax in accordance with the TRAIN Law.
This mean nearly P7-million would be deducted from the winnings. The selling agent will get one percent prize commission of the jackpot prize but not to exceed P1 million.
Meanwhile, the agency said there were eight consolation prize winners, who fell a digit short from getting the whopping jackpot.
Each of them, per PCSO, will get P50,000 each, which will also be subjected to 20 percent tax.
To claim their prizes, they must go to PCSO’s main office in Mandaluyong City and present two IDs so they could get their checks. The agency said they should bring their tickets with them.
Garma urged the public to continue patronizing the products of the agency, saying people in dire need of help will surely benefit from the agency’s charity programs.
