THE campaign period for the 2025 National and Local Elections (NLE) kicks off on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.
According to the calendar of activities released by the Commission on Elections (Comelec), the campaign period for those seeking national positions, including senators and partylist groups starts on February 11 while for those running in local elections, the campaign period begins on March 28 to include those running for Congress, provincial, city and municipal posts.
Comelec Chair George Erwin Garcia said the campaign period will be up to May 10 or two days before the election day on May 12.
Garcia reminded candidates that campaigning is prohibited on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, or on April 17 and 18, respectively.
The poll body chair also said that candidates need to follow the rules and regulations governing the campaign to do away with sanctions and even possible disqualification.
