THE 23 crew members of the two motorized tankers -M/T Tritrust and M/T Mega Ensoleillee- that were busted for illegal oil smuggling have undergone medical and inquest proceedings.
The said tankers figured in what authorities now call as “paihi”operation and which was busted by personnel of the Manila International Container Port – Custom Intelligence and Investigation Service (MICP- CIIS).
The said MICP-CIIS authorities busted the operation while the crew were in the act of transferring the said oil from the tankers which carried 370, 000 liters of ‘unmarked fuel’.
They were apprehended at the Navotas fish port and were brought to the Navotas Procecutor’s Office to undergo inquest proceedings.
