SELECT students of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) received free tablets on October 17, provided by the City of Manila to allow them to keep up with online learning.

University President Emmanuel Leyco received 284 units of smart tablets from Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso last Friday, which will be provided to the poorest of the poor PLM students.

Enrollees for Academic Year 2020-2021 who reported having no gadgets and have the lowest annual family incomes have been prioritized to help them adapt to the “new normal” in education.

The City of Manila also assisted the University for door-to-door delivery of the gadgets to student beneficiaries, which will be completed on Saturday afternoon.

“We are thankful to the City of Manila under the leadership of Mayor Isko Moreno for extending aid to poor but deserving PLM students. This will be of great help for them as the University shifted to blended learning amid the COVID-19 threat,” President Leyco said.

PLM opened its virtual campus on October 5, 2020, in keeping with the government’s directive against face-to-face classes to prevent coronavirus infections.

PLM remains committed to providing accessible quality education, its continuing mandate since 1965.
