3 Pasig city hall employees face criminal raps — Sotto

THREE Pasig City hall employees faced criminal charges over alleged violations , Mayor Vico Sotto said Monday.

Sotto did not named the employees involved.

According to Sotto, the two erring employees manufactured ghost beneficiaries of the city’s scholarship program and allegedly stole around P1 million from such scheme.

The third employee, he said was caught in the act of extorting money from someone applying for a government permit.

The extortion activity was captured on video. Sotto added that there are people willing to testify against the government worker.

Sotto said that among the reasons why he ran for the local chief executive position of Pasig is to clean up corruption in the local government.

“Mahirap gawin.

He warned that the day of reckoning will come.
