3 Villanueva drug group members fall

OPERATIVES of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and Biñan City police on Thursday arrested three members of a drug group after seizing P340,000 worth of suspected shabu in Biñan City,Laguna .

Police Provincial Director PCol. Serafin Petalio II, in a report to CALABARZON Regional Director PBGen. Felipe Natividad, identified the arrested suspects as Renier Boregas Jr. ,38, Maria Christina Guico, 48 , and Julieth Palang ,46, all of San Pedro City, Laguna.

Operatives of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, 1st District, and Binan City Police Station conducted the operation in Bgy. Canlalay, Biñan City, Laguna where the suspects were arrested.

During the operation, a police poseur buyer was able to buy a medium-sized transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu worth P 8,000 from the suspects in exchange for a genuine P 1,000 bill and seven scanned copies of a P1,000 boodle bill.

In a preventive search, confiscated were 10 sachets containing suspected shabu including a sachet bought by the poseur-buyer from Boregas Jr. with an estimated value of P340,000 a black leather pouch, the P1,000 bill and the seven scanned copies P1,000 boodle bills used as buy-bust money.

Boregas Jr. is a high-value individual and the other suspects are members of the Villanueva drug group operating in the first district of Laguna and is connected to the Camerino Drug Group operating within Dasmariñas City, Cavite, Muntinlupa, and San Pedro City, Laguna.

The arrested suspects will be presented to the Office of City Prosecutor in Biñan City, Laguna for inquest proceedings for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002(R.A. 9165).
