TUGUEGARAO CITY – A 32-foot-tall giant Christmas Tree centerpiece was formally lighted to showcase the “magical journey” especially for children at SM City mall here last night, October 23.

The children loved and enjoyed the picture-taking at the place, which featured fancy Christmas decors and balls and other brightly colored decorations, a reindeer and a Santa Claus.

Two large star arches, nutcrackers and miniature Christmas trees hanging from the giant holiday tree were also described by lighting goers as adorable.

Villagers who watched the lighting rites have expressed fondness of the ornaments and dazzling lights and they were even more delighted with the ballet-like dances performed by the young ballerinas.

The giant Christmas tree sets the atmosphere for Christmas and it is being felt and enjoyed mostly by children and even adults, visitor Rhea Manlapaz said.

“We feel the Christmas spirit and joy while our children enjoy and play,” she said.

Gerina Malubay-Torno, public relations officer, encouraged well-off children to also share like her children who bought a “bear of joy” toys with one to be donated for a child. “This will surely bring smiles on the faces of children who will benefit from donations,” she added. (VILL GIDEON VISAYA)
