3rd congressional district in Bataan pushed

BALANGA CITY, Bataan — Citing bigger benefits for the province if it is approved, Congressman Joet S. Garcia is pushing for the creation of another congressional district in Bataan.

Garcia pointed out that his proposed “Reapportioning of the province of Bataan into 3 districts” under House Bill 199, will mean bigger opportunities in the province.

Once we have three congressional districts, this means additional fund will be poured into the province. We’ll then have three engineering offices of the Department of Public Works and Highways, among others,” pointed out the Bataan solon.

Under the proposed Option 1, Garcia said the towns to be placed under the 1st district are Dinalupihan, Hermosa, Orani and Morong with a combined population of 291, 982; while under the 2nd district will be Samal, Abucay, Balanga city, Pilar and Bagac with 252,825 residents.

Under the third district will be Orion, Limay and Mariveles with a combined population of 277, 373.

In the second option, Garcia said the towns of Hermosa, Samal, Orani and Abucay will be under 1st district with a population of 223,302; the 2nd district will be composed of Balanga, Orion, Pilar and Limay with a population of 283,550; while the 3rd district will comprise Dinalupihan, Bagac, Morong and Mariveles with a population of 315,328.
