SIMULTANEOUS anti-criminality operations in Cavite province on Monday and Tuesday left four armed suspects dead following gunbattles with the local police and 23 others arrested for various criminal offenses including drug trafficking, a report to Police Regional Office 4-A director, Brigadier General Vicente D. Danao Jr. said yesterday.
Cavite Police Provincial Office director, Colonel Marlon R. Santos, said that those operations also led in the seizure of nearly 15 grams of shabu worth P102,000, three loaded caliber .38 revolvers and various drug paraphernalia.
The official identified the slain suspects as Reynier San Agustin alias ‘Rairai,’ a ‘high-value target’ in Imus City; known drug dealers Jonnel Derain alias ‘John Mark’ and Ariel Vanta and Rolando Docog, a most wanted rape suspect.
San Agustin, a resident of Barangay Bucandala exchanged fire with undercover officers after he sensed the ongoing entrapment operation along NIA Road in Malagasang 1-G, Imus City and was killed when the lawmen returned fire at 11:20 p.m. last Monday. The operation was conducted by operatives of the Imus City Police Station headed by Lieutenant Col. Vicente Amante.
The slain suspect yielded a cal. .38 revolver with two spent cartridges and a live ammunition, 24 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, several drug paraphernalia and three marked P100 bills. The suspect’s tricycle was also seized by the police.
Derain, a resident of Bacoor City and Vanta, of Bagong Pook Barangay 48A, Cavite City are also known drug dealers in their neighborhood who were killed in separate firefights with the local police after they noticed they were being entrapped.
Vanta yielded a snub-nosed .38 revolver with two live ammunition and a spent casing and a plastic sachet containing nearly seven grams of the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine.’
Derain was gunned down in a shootout in Amposta Compound in Bgy. Sineguelasan, Bacoor City at 4 a.m. Tuesday. The slain suspect was believed to have escaped arrest during a shootout between the police and members of the so-called Iso Drug Group in the area which led in the killing of the gang leader identified as one Harris Iso and the recovery of five assorted handguns and an estimated P1 million worth of shabu on August 7, 2018.
On the other hand, Docog, a man wanted for five counts of incest rape and tagged as the no. 1 most wanted person in Juban, Sorsogon was killed in a shootout with officers out to arrest him in Bgy. Muzon 1 in Rosario municipality at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The slain suspect yielded a cal. .38 home-made revolver with four live ammunition, an estimated P32,000 worth of shabu and the marked money he received from the poseur. Santos said that the suspect was about to be arrested on the strength of a warrant of arrest for five counts of incestuous rape issued by Judge Jose Madrid of the Sorsogon City Regional Trial Court Branch 51 on April 21, 2004 when he engaged the lawmen in a shootout.
Santos said that the suspects arrested include two men wanted for statutory rape and rape respectively while the rest are wanted on charges ranging from illegal possession of dangerous drugs and firearms and ammunition, robbery, frustrated homicide, estafa, malicious mischief and frustrated murder and frustrated homicide.
