410 rogue cops dismissed, 411 suspended in Region 3

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — A total of 410 roque cops have been dismissed while 411 were suspended in Central Luzon for various administrative and criminal offenses.

This was reported by Police Regional Office 3 Regional Director Gen. Valeriano T. de Leon, as he vowed to sustain its internal cleansing campaign among its rank and file to regain the public’s trust and confidence in line with the directives of the Chief, PNP Chief Debold Sinas.

From 2016 to date, de Keon said a total of 3,356 administrative cases have been filed against 5,118 erring PRO3 personnel, 677 of whom are Police Commissioned Officers and the remaining 4,441 are Police Non-Commissioned Officers which comprises a nominal 5,118 of the total number of PRO3 police force which is 10, 573 (as of November 18, 2020).

Citing records from PRO3’s Discipline Law and Order Section (DLOS), the primary unit tasked to impose disciplinary action against erring policemen, de Leon said a total of 410 PNP personnel were dismissed from the service while 411 were suspended. Forty two were demoted to the next lower rank and five separated were terminated.

Meanwhile, 3,978 were exonerated from their administrative cases.

De Keon said those meted with disciplinary action were all given due process during the conduct of summary hearing.

We will continue to weed out hoodlums and punish the undisciplined among our ranks through the strict application of the punitive sanctions for violations of PNP rules and regulations, and intensified counter-intelligence effort against illegal activities of PNP personnel,” added de Leon.
