Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian listens to the municipal links of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Aurora as they share their suggestions and recommendations to further strengthen the program’s implementation.

Among the key points raised were possible amendments to the 4Ps law, particularly on the duration for a program beneficiary. The current 7-year limit was discussed, with a proposal to extend support until children in the household graduate from college.

Other recommendations were providing an after-care program for graduated beneficiaries and enhancing the family development sessions (FDS) curriculum to better equip families with knowledge and skills for long-term self-sufficiency.

Secretary Gatchalian thanked the municipal links for their inputs and emphasized that their insights will help the agency improve the program’s delivery of services for poor and vulnerable Filipino families.

The 4Ps municipal links serve as frontliners in the program’s implementation, directly engaging with beneficiaries to ensure they comply with conditions and receive the support they need.

Also in the dialogue were Asst. Secretary Irene Dumlao and Field Office 3 – Central Luzon Assistant Regional Director Armont Pecina. (YADP)
