Instead of heeding the call of government to stay at home, Christian Javier, 19, Joshua Garcia, 19 and 16-year-old minor chose to engage in playing illegal gambling locally known as “cara y cruz” at around 12:10 a.m. along Purok 2, Cupang.

They were chanced upon by combined elements of Muntinlupapolice and barangay officials of Bgy. Cupang who were conducting the implementation of curfew hours in the area, prompting them to accost the three.

However, Ivan Lex Valenzuela, 24 and Jefferson Garcia, 30, who were in the area intervened and even cursed, shouted and insulted the police officers, prompting P/SSgt. Larry Esperon and barangay watchmen Rondaldo Salvador and Jeff Claridad to arrest them.
