6 bgys in Mandaluyong COVID-free

SIX out of 27 barangays in Mandaluyong City now have zero coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases as the total number active cases in the city continues to drop.

Latest data from the local government showed that as of November 7 the six barangays are Bagong Silang, New Zaniga, Pag-asa, Pleasant Hills, Vergara and Wack-Wack.

Some local government units in Metro Manila noted a significant decline in the number of active COVID-19 cases in their respective localities in recent weeks.

In Mandaluyong, active cases further dipped to 142 on Saturday, with 5,241 recoveries, and 177 deaths.

On September 7, Mandaluyong had more than 1,000 active cases of COVID-19.

Since that start of the pandemic in March, the Mandaluyong City government reported a total of 5,560 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with most of the infections recorded in Barangay Addition Hills.

The local government reminded the public to comply with health and safety protocols such as wearing of face masks and face shields, observing physical distancing, and maintaining personal proper hygiene.
