CAMP BGEN. VICENTE P. LIM — Six suspects were nabbed, nine others were killed while fighting off authorities and nine others remained at large during the PNP’s simultaneous implementation of search warrants against members of Communists Terrorists Groups (CTGs) operating in CALABARZON region.
Three suspects each were nabbed in Laguna and Rizal. Of the nine who were killed after fighting off authorities, one was in Cavite, two in Batangas and six were in Rizal.
At large are a suspect in Batangas in eight in Rizal.
Assorted firearms and explosives were also confiscated from the suspects’ homes during the serving of the search warrants.
“We have to act together to end the 51-year-old communist insurgency in the country. This is just one of the many initiatives and programs of the present government, and the Philippine National Police together with our counterparts in the Armed Forces of the Philippines,” said Calabarzon Police Regional IVA Director PBGen. Felipe Natividad.
“We have intensified our crackdown against members of CTGs in the region along with our counter-white area operations to convince these individuals to lay-down their arms and voluntarily surrender to authorities. We are giving them the chance to avail of the government’s program under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program,” he added.
