71-year-old suspect in trader’s slay falls

A SEPTUAGENARIAN man who fled after shooting to death an owner of a motorcycle shop and seriously wounding the latter’s client in Las Piñas City was arrested in Tagaytay city Thursday afternoon.

Ernesto Francisco, 71,of Abrille St. BF Resort Village, Talon Dos was collared by elements of the Las Pinas police at around 4 p.m. in Tagaytay City, a day after he allegedly shot to death Ricky Dimatulac and his regular customer Dominic Duclayan, 38, both his neighbors.

Dimatulac sustained three bullet wounds in the body and was declared dead-on-arrival at the Perpetual Help Hospital while Duclayan is still under observation at the same hospital due to a gunshot wound.

Las Pinas police duty officer P/Lt. Jonathan Reyes said Duclayan was testing his motorcycle after having it repaired when the suspect, who allegedly got annoyed by the loud noise of the exhaust pipe, accosted him and hit him in the head.

Dimatulac, who witnessed the incident tried to intervene, prompting the suspect to turn his ire on him that resulted in their heated altercation.

At the height of their argument, Francisco pulled out an unknown caliber of pistol and shot the victims in their bodies before riding on his Ford Everest (ZSH-124) and escaped, leaving the two victims sprawled bloodied on the pavement.
