FORMER Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos is asking the Department of Justice (DOJ) to junk the charges filed against him by former President Rodrigo Duterte in connection with the arrest made on Kingdom of Jesus Christ leader Apollo Quiboloy.
Abalos arrived at the DOJ past 10 a.m. to file his counter- affidavit in connection with the case filed against him for violation of Article 327 of the Revised Penal Code of the Philippines or malicious mischief.
“Ginawa lang namin ang dapat namin gawin. Kung hindi namin ginawa iyon, hanggang ngayon ay hindi pa sana naaresto si Quiboloy,” Abalos said.
In his counter-affidavit, Abalos said that the charges against him must be dismissed since Duterte was not even present during the said raid that led to Quiboloy’s arrest.
“Complainant(Duterte) in fact has no personal knowledge as regards his bare allegations. Complainant was not even present during the operation”, Abalos said in his counter-affidavit.
Abalos said that another case was filed by Duterte against him at the Office of the Ombudsman still in connection with the KJOC.
“Wala akong pakialam, karapatan nila, that’s part of the job, tinanggap mo ang posisyon. Basta alam mo na tama ang ginagawa mo,” said Abalos.
