Aboitiz Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of the Aboitiz Group, proudly welcomes 19 talented individuals to its Aboitiz Future Leaders scholarship program. They will study in five universities in the National Capital Region (NCR) and are amongst 123 new Aboitiz scholars across the Philippines. This scholarship is designed to empower the next generation of leaders with education and opportunities throughout the country.
“We welcome these bright young minds to our Aboitiz family,” said Ginggay Hontiveros-Malvar, President of Aboitiz Foundation and Chief Reputation and Sustainability Officer of Aboitiz Equity Ventures. “Investing in education is a cornerstone of our commitment to building a brighter future for the Philippines. The Aboitiz Future Leaders program is not just about financial support; it’s about nurturing the next generation of leaders who will drive positive change in their communities and our nation.”
Out of the 19 new scholars, four are enrolled in Ateneo De Manila University, Mapua University, De La Salle University, and University of Sto Tomas while 15 have been accepted in the University of the Philippines Diliman. The interest of these scholars represent a diverse range of fields, including engineering, information technology, and management, reflecting the foundation’s commitment to fostering talent focused on STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) courses.
The scholars include Julianne Earl Sales from Ateneo De Manila University, studying Management Engineering, and Airon Matthew Bantillo from De La Salle University, focusing on Information Technology. Reyna Beatriz Juliano from Mapua University and Nicolas Venida from the University of Santo Tomas are both pursuing Civil Engineering. At UP Diliman, scholars like Abygail Bundalian in Computer Engineering and Reine Nathan Dominic Catubag in Chemical Engineering are set to take on new challenges.
The list continues with other promising students, such as Georelle Sherene Cleofas in Industrial Engineering, John Carlo Dela Cruz in Computer Engineering, and Earl John Fabic in Chemical Engineering. Jose Gabriel Gatdula in Electronics Engineering, Exequiel Gendran in Civil Engineering, and Cristy Oconer in Chemical Engineering.
“This opportunity means so much to me, and I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Aboitiz Foundation for their generosity and support. This scholarship will significantly aid me in pursuing my academic and career goals, and I am excited for the journey ahead,” said Cleofas.
The others taking BS Engineering are Caryl Angela Opulencia, Richmond Vrent Ramos, Jude Aris Responde, Jhames Leandrew Tan, Justine Clarence Ventucillo, and Symone Monika Yambao. Aloysius Reve Torres is taking Computer Science. These scholars are prepared to contribute to the university’s legacy of excellence and to the broader community with their skills and dedication.
