RIDING-IN-TANDEM suspects shot dead the no. 2 nominee of the Ang Bumbero Partylist (ABP) as soon as he alighted from his Sports Utility Vehicle at around 6 p.m. Monday night on P. Guevarra Street in Sampaloc, Manila.
Initial probe showed that Leninsky Bacud, 2nd nominee and former barangay chairman in Sampaloc, was rushed to the University of Sto. Tomas Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival due to gunshot wounds in the different parts of the body.
It was learned that the suspects engaged in a shootout a responding policeman who happens to be a neighbor of Bacud.
Reportedly, Bacud was with ABP first nominee Jose Antonio Goitia and have went their separate ways to go home when the incident happened.
PMajor Philipp Ines, chief of the MPD Public Information Office, said that a probe and hot pursuit operation continues.
