UNDER the advocacy, “Pag -iwas Sa Sunog, Hindi ka Nag-iisa, Para Sa Mas Ligtas na Pinas”, the “Ang Bumbero ng Pilipinas (ABP) party list will be among those that will spearhead the celebration of the yearly ‘Fire Prevention Month‘ that will be held in March.
In line with this, the ABP party list said it will be conducting free training in the communities and households in readiness for quick response measures during times of emergency and calamities like fire, earthquake and flood.
“Kailangang magkakabuklod ang bawat Pilipino sa pagtugon na may sapat na kaalaman at kahandaan sa mga kalamidad” ABP first nominee Jose Antonio “Ka Pep Goitia”. said, adding that during their visits to the communites, they make sure to teach emergency response drill and the correct use of fire extinguishers.
“Mas ligtas pag palaging handa ang ABP at ang mga miyembro nito ay walang takot at walang sawang magbibigay ng serbisyo kahit anong oras. Handang rumesponde sa lahat ng emergency” Goitia added.
He said the ABP, which is composed of a coalition of firefighters, fire rescuers and volunteers, aims to offer unparalleled service when it comes to saving lives, adding that these are the people who perform “apostolic work” by facing dangers and risking their own lives by responding to fire incident.
The ABP partylist, he said, will fight for benefits, insurance and medical assistance for its members, noting that presently, some firemen receive only minimal allowance while some do not get paid at all, despite their heroic duties.
With their good showing in the surveys and support they are getting, Goitia expressed confidence that they will be able to make it to the Top 10.
“Ito ay dahill may mabuting layunin ng partylist at makabuluhang adhikain upang gawing ligtas ang Pilipinas,” he said, adding that their party, composed of Ka Pep Goitia, Lenin Bacud, Jose Mari Antonio Goitia, Carl Gene Moreno Plantado and Howie Quimzon Manga, made it to 14th place already in the February 11 to 14 survey of the Tangere, while Top 24-25 in the Octa Research.
“Matibay ang kumpiyansa ko na magtatagumpay kami dahil sa suporta ng mga Pilipino na naniniwala sa kasabihan ng mga matatanda na ‘manakawan ka na , huwag ka lang masusunugan” he stressed.
